A tasting challenge with a slice of humour.
After an introduction to cheesemaking, Francis leads your guests on a short tour of their senses, enabling them to understand how to detect milk types, quality, age and method of maturation in artisan cheese. As is customary at Taste of the Vine events (though not obligatory), a challenge ensues, with guests competing with their new-found skills for prizes.
Wines will be selected to accompany the cheese rounds.
As a sideline to Taste of the Vine, Francis is starting a cheese making company with his wife Pam. Due for release late 2016, the cheese is to be a washed rind cow’s milk cheese. Google, 'Gimblett Cheese' for more info.
